The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported on May 8th that Federal government employment continued to decline by 9,000 full-time equivalents in April. Since peaking in October 2024, federal government employment is down by 348,000, or 11.5 percent. Even with this drawdown, opportunities still exist for those willing to seek them out.
