Now that the House and Senate have passed the budget bill, only a majority is needed to pass the final bill after reconciliation. The potential for benefit cuts is magnified significantly this year since the filibuster can’t be used to stop the final bill. Additional cuts may be on the way in one form or another that could impact all Federal employees.
