This new ORA Application Process is eliminating the cumbersome, complex, paper-based retirement process. This January, there were roughly 107,000 retirement applications in the online system. With the dramatic increase in federal employee retirements last year, OPM is struggling to keep up, even with this enhanced processing feature.
