Approximately 10% of the 2.4 million federal workers were fully remote in January 2025, 40% teleworked at least part-time. On any given workday, up to half of the federal workforce – about 1.2 million employees were out of the office. Today, roughly 10% of employees have been granted remote and telework exemptions under the president’s guidance.
