Cable Technician - DoD Environment

Role Overview
We are seeking a Cable Technician to support secure DoD network infrastructure in classified environments. This role focuses on structured cabling, fiber, and physical network support in mission-critical facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and label CAT5e/CAT6/CAT6A and fiber optic cabling
  • Support network equipment installations (racks, patch panels, switches)
  • Perform cable testing, troubleshooting, and remediation
  • Maintain accurate documentation (as-builts, labeling, test results)
  • Work in classified spaces following strict security and access procedures
  • Coordinate with network engineers and site leads during installs and upgrades

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of structured cabling experience (DoD, military, or gov contractor preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with copper and fiber cabling
  • Familiarity with cable testing tools and standards
  • Experience working in secure / classified environments
  • Ability to read and follow network drawings and cable schedules

Nice to Have

  • Military communications or infrastructure background
  • Experience in data centers, command centers, or SCIFs
  • Fiber splicing or advanced testing experience
