The money is great; but, is not the reason for the “shortage” of personnel. The biggest “wall” is

your age limitation, 37 to 40. I can do anything a 43 year old person can do. I worked at the San Diego, CA. facility and loved every minute of it. At that time it was the pay and so I left and got a job with LA County and retired in 25 years (a big mistake, all mine) and I would love to work for you, but; you will not hire me because of my age. I can do the job better than any 28 year can. And I do not have to “fight or carry any inmate” as per requirements. Think about it. I worked for AZ. department of “corrections” (after retiring from LA County) and had to run a 1.5 mile run

in 15 minutes of less as per the “requirements” which were preposterous. At the job I never had to walk or run more than ten feet as I worked the module rather than the floor. And never had a “problem” with any inmate.
