According to the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), more than 10,600 federal positions were open and accepting applications as of early November 2026. [OPM data](https://data.opm.gov/explore-data/analytics/federal-recruitment) also shows a 7.5% increase in job announcements during FY 2026 compared with FY 2025, indicating that hiring continues in key occupations despite ongoing workforce reduction efforts.
