On April 2, 2024, President Donald J. Trump issued an [Executive Order](https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/04/regulating-imports-with-a-reciprocal-tariff-to-rectify-trade-practices-that-contribute-to-large-and-persistent-annual-united-states-goods-trade-deficits/) that imposes responsive tariffs to strengthen the international economic position of the United States and protect American workers. The intent is to increase domestic manufacturing capacity and enhance our nation’s critical supply chains.
